Quick weekend recap :

Went out to the local bar on Friday, had fun, drank a bit too much (new rule : 2 shot limit for me!), bought Steve a beer for his birthday. I was also rather stupid and gave out my number, which didn't seem like a stupid idea at the time, but did the next day. Honest to Buddha I wasn't even drunk or anything at the time, I just thought, "Hey, here's a cool person Bethany and I might like to hang out with"...but thinking it over the next day, it wasn't such a great idea. I do need to figure out how to meet some educated folks around here that have similar tastes in music, movies, etc., are fairly liberal, and are family-friendly. I'm really thirsting for some pals like that, who could come over and hang, or go on double dates with us and such, and I have no idea how to go about finding them. There have to be a few cool 30-ish people in Suffolk County!

Saturday we went to the Long Island Samhain Witch Festival (even though Samhain was 2 weeks ago). I guess I'll just go ahead and air my cultural ignorance by saying I was struck by how many normal people were there. I'm interested in Neo-Paganism and invoking the powers of the universe but somehow I thought my clan would be the only people there not wearing cloaks or leather. There were a number of interesting looking people there, but there were also plenty of Muggle-looking types. Everybody had a good time and got a little something to bring home. I got a smoky-gray stone to wear around my neck. I don't know if it's supposed to be infused with any wierd powers or something, but it looked cool.

Watched Revenge of the Sith Saturday night. I liked it, and it definitely tied the two trilogies together, but it was a little light on story I thought. Ehp!s 1-3 would have made a good 3-hour movie. Instead, the last half hour of Sith just made the preceding 7 hours of movie worthwhile.

Sunday we had some people over for cake & pizza in honor of Emma. Her birthday is actually today (HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMMA!) and we'll be having a birthday dinner tonight and then have a movie outing with a couple of her friends this weekend.

I start a Finance course online today, so I'll probably be frazzled for the next six weeks. Thank gods I have a 4-day weekend coming up!
