Just finished reading Wolves of the Calla, the fifth book of Stephen King's Dark Tower series. I'm still trying to process a few of the plot twists that I'm not quite sure I like (though I'm not quite sure I don't like them, either). Overall, the book rocked tho. That King mofo can write. I did find the Harry Potter reference amusing...I was actually thinking the Wolves' sneetches sounded a lot like Harry's snitch (actually more like bludgers, but still). I've been enjoying the little pop culture references appearing where they shouldn't, in this desolate, alien world on its last legs. But I think maybe writing yourself into this opus is a little egotistical...or maybe it's too whimsical...but maybe not...tho if SK is at the foot of the Dark Tower playing "Hey Jude" with that band made up of his fellow literati, I'm gonna be peeved. I'll be reading books six and seven real soon, that's for sure. Although maybe not too soon. With only two books to go, I'm not sure I wanna reach the end of the road too quickly. And I might wanna read 'Salem's Lot first, in any case. For now though, it's time for bed. Gotta rest up, had a late night again at work last night, and tomorrow is volleyball!
